That `electric moped for adults` in your basket might legally be a motorcycle.
The test is not the label, it is the spec. Pedals that propel it, a 250 watt motor, assistance stopping at 15.5mph: that is an electrically assisted pedal cycle, rideable at 14 with no licence.
Miss any one of those and it is a moped or motorcycle in law. Provisional licence, CBT, tax, insurance, registration, helmet. Riding without a valid CBT certificate risks a fine of up to £1,000 and up to six penalty points.
CBT is not a test you pass or fail. It is training, and it takes a day.
